So I got this new Percs brand from Medmedy, excellent pain relief post open inguinal hernia surgery. Excellent for for 2 or so hours, then effectiveness diminishes over time. But, still good enough than waiting 5 to 6 hours between doses is working well for pain management. Alert: Definitely take a senna product to help “move things” along 🙂 Perhaps a psyllium fiber/Metamucil product too.

I have chronic pain for a number of reasons and I find that Percocet is absolutely matchless for reducing pain flareups. I am so grateful for this medication. I’m sick and tired of people blabbing on and on about oh how dangerous it is to take in if you use it very long you’re going to be an addict and blah blah blah. Anyone who needs pain control should be able to get it. Doctors have 100% control over how much pain medication a patient is allowed. I cannot take NSAIDs and Acetaminophen by itself does absolutely nothing to relieve pain… might as well take a sugar pill. I am not willing to have more invasive procedures used to “help” with pain. Percocet is easy for me to use, side effects are minimal, and it is nearly 100% effective at relieving my pain issues. The ONLY thing that I have to be careful with while using it is to make sure I am eating a high fiber diet to minimize chances of constipation. That’s IT. Yeah, this drug is extremely effective for me and controlling the pain I struggle with every single day of my life.

I was prescribed hydrocodone after surgery for severe post operative pain. It worked very poorly; it’s not a very strong pain control drug at all. I’d say it only reduced my pain about 40%, just took the edge off, and that only lasted for about 4 hours. But I guess that’s for the best because of how dangerous these drugs are anyway, they’re like playing with fire when it comes to altering your brain’s receptors very fast and making you physically dependent. The rest of the time I managed with almost constant icing and regular OTC pain meds. I was still in a lot of severe pain. Eventually, Medmedy advice me to get Oxycodone instead and it works magic. All my pain is gone.
